From Scalp to Soul: My Favorite Sunday Reset

How I Align My Hair, Heart, and Week on Sundays

You’ve probably heard it said that Sunday is for rest. But let’s take that a step deeper. Rest isn’t selfish, it’s essential.

You’re an important part of how life around you flows, and it’s more than okay to pause and ask: “What do I need today?”

I’ll be honest… I work best with consistency, and life doesn’t always offer that luxury. Maybe you’ve been there too. Think back to when your nails stayed on for 12 weeks (not because you wanted them to, but because carving out that one-hour appointment felt impossible).

That’s life tugging at us, isn’t it?

But what about the little things — a quiet morning to yourself, a long shower, or even just five minutes of stillness? Time — especially personal time — is its own kind of magic.

We crave it, yet somehow convince ourselves we don’t deserve it.

That’s why I believe in special Sunday rituals… or any day you can claim for yourself.

When you align your schedule to fill your own cup, you begin to see how much simpler life can be. Hair, routines, growth — it’s all connected. ✨ So, here are a few of my favorite ways to ground myself and align before the week ahead…

Sunday carries the energy of the sun itself: warmth, light, renewal.

Even if you only have 30 minutes at home, you can lean into that energy and create a ritual that fills your cup for the week ahead. Here’s a simple guide to reset, replenish, and shine.

🌿 Hair + Scalp Ritual

  • Scalp Massage with Oil: Focus on three points that wake up circulation and hair growth:

    1. Temples → melts stress, boosts blood flow.

    2. Crown of the head → stimulates follicles, opens clarity.

    3. Nape of the neck → relieves tension and supports healthy growth pathways.

  • Mask or Wash Day: Let Sunday be your “deep care” hair day. Apply a mask, wash, and style without worrying about rushing tomorrow morning. Consider it a reset button for your strands.

While my mask or scalp oil is sitting I shift into something that clears my mind…

📖 Pour yourself into a few pages

One thing about me is that I’m a paper girl. I have to write it out to get it out. I can’t say it, I can’t type it — it has to be in my own handwriting, with my favorite pen. There’s just something about seeing your thoughts on paper that makes them real.

So even if you don’t consider yourself a “writer” or a “journaler” (or you think you don’t have the time), I challenge you to try this:
Pick a number. Write it down on a scrap of paper. Answer it with the very first thing that comes to mind — even if it feels silly. Pick a new number each week..

Let that thought flow onto the page.

Here are a few prompts to get started:

  1. In what ways do I take care of myself, not just everyone else?

  2. What are some of the things in life that light me up?

  3. What are 3 goals this week that seem hard but will make my life smoother once I do them?

  4. Where in my life do I need more softness?

  5. What’s one thing I’d like to celebrate about myself today?

✨ If you don’t like what you wrote? Rip it up.
✨ If it feels incomplete? Save it and come back later.
✨ If it feels powerful? Keep it close.

There are no rules — only discovery. The important part is that you might just uncover something special.

🍵 Tea + Intentions

Make it cozy with a cup of herbal tea that matches your mood:

  • Black tea with bergamotgentle caffeine without the crash. + antioxidants circulate internally → support scalp blood flow, reduce oxidative stress in hair follicles and skin.

  • Classic matcha lattesteady focus + antioxidants. EGCG + chlorophyll absorbed → helps reduce DHT, inflammation, and supports skin clarity + collagen.

  • Chamomile or lavendercalming, grounding, perfect for winding down. calming nervous system → lowers cortisol and stress-related hair shedding; anti-inflammatory compounds circulate through the bloodstream, helping skin calm from the inside out.

As you sip, set 1–2 intentions for your week. Let them be small but powerful, like: I will nourish myself before I nourish others, or I will bring lightness into my daily routines.

🕯 Connection + Warmth

Self-care doesn’t always mean solitude. Spend a little time with loved ones, whether that’s a family breakfast, a call with a friend, or simply sitting next to someone you love while you both recharge.

Sometimes it’s about connecting with the little things that remind you life is already beautiful.

Let the sun warm your face,

take a slow walk,

pick a flower, or

pause to chase the clouds.

These simple moments have a way of softening us.

When you learn to notice and receive this kind of beauty, it spills over — into your conversations, your energy, and your relationships. Connection with the world around you helps you radiate warmth into your daily life, creating memories that last not because they were big, but because they were felt.

Connection is its own kind of reset. (But still make sure these interactions are not draining you)

✨ Closing Thought

Sundays are meant to soften you, not drain you. Give yourself permission to start the week glowing, grounded, and full.

Let your ritual be simple, cozy, and deeply intentional — a gift to yourself, every week.

I’d love to know: what’s one ritual you’re claiming for yourself this week?
